The primary public eclipse viewing event in Rabun County GA will be held on the campus of The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School in Dillard GA. This outstanding location has a number of open fields and is located only a couple of miles south of the eclipse center line. This event is being organized by the Rabun County Tourism & Develoment Authority. Details on festivities can be found on their "Outtasight" Solar Eclipse webpage.

Start of Partial Eclipse: 11:06:55 am
Start of Total Eclipse: 2:35:41pm

The important time to note is the beginning of the partial eclipse. Many Totality seekers from Florida and Georgia will be coming up to Rabun County on Monday, 8/21. Hwy U.S. 441 will very likely experience VERY heavy traffic! If you are coming up Eclipse Day, plan on starting very early to avoid the traffic jam. Your best bet is to plan on arriving Saturday or Sunday and enjoy all the eclipse festivities. Make your motel or camping reservations early!
